Change of costume
While creating our intro to our film i analyzed other typical gangster films to get a better over view of the different kind of costume that typical gangsters wear, and i found out that suits is the mostly used one. and the reason for this i think is because it gives the atmosphere of professionals at work doing what they do best. Therefore while looking at this i realized that to make our film seem more realistic to our target audience we would have to do the same, and wear suits, in doing this i found that it made the characters; smarter( well dressed), more intellectual, while also giving them an air of higher social status in the gangster world. A particular film that gave me this impression of mainly using suits was Lock stock and two smoking barrels.
The reason that using these suits is also an important idea is also because of the representation in which the characters make of themselves. As there is the representation that the audience are shown, which also links with the way in which the character wears the suit and describes him as an actual person. what i mean by this is that if the suit looks like it has just been thrown on for good measure then this tells the audience about how the character does not care much for the way he looks and that he is just dressing that way so people get a certain impression from him, this is an example of Jimmy, as he wears the suit in a way that makes him out to be all about how people perceive him to look like, as the only scene where he appears to have a blazer on is when he meets the boss, and the audience should be able to see this and recognize how he wants to look more presentable in front of the boss.
